Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, peeled
  • 3 cups Sweet Home Peach Cider
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine Sweet Home Peach Cider, granulated sugar, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and vanilla extract.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the peeled pears to the pot, making sure they are submerged in the liquid.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the pears simmer gently for 20-25 minutes, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the pears cool in the poaching liquid.
  6. Once cooled, transfer the pears to serving dishes and spoon some of the poaching liquid over the top.
