Flavor Profile: Savory tomato, bright citrus, peppery heat, classic Bloody Mary spice

Yield: About 1½ cups (4–6 servings)
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 30 minutes (recommended)

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Sweet Home Bloody Mary Mix
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2–3 tbsp prepared horseradish (to taste)
  • 1½ tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Hot sauce, to taste (optional)
  • ¼ tsp celery salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Insructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Bloody Mary mix and ketchup until smooth.
  2. Stir in horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using).
  3. Season with celery salt and black pepper. Taste and adjust heat or acidity as needed.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve chilled with cooked shrimp.

Variation: Classic Cocktail-Style

For an adult version, stir 1–2 tablespoons vodka into the finished sauce just before chilling. Start small—the goal is warmth and depth, not overpowering heat.

Perfect Pairings

  • Pair with poached or steamed shrimp, well chilled and patted dry.
  • Garnish the platter with lemon wedges, celery sticks, or Sweet Home Pickled Okra for a classic Bloody Mary feel.
  • Excellent alongside oysters, crab claws, or a seafood board.
