Ingredients

  • 2 boneless or bone-in pork chops (about ½-inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or other cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 sturdy sandwich rolls or buns, split
  • 2-4 tablespoons Sweet Home Mild Chow Chow or Sweet Home Hot Chow Chow
  • Optional: Lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, or mustard for extra toppings

Instructions

  1. Season Pork Chops: Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook Pork Chops: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the pork chops. Cook for 4-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through and reaching an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  3. Toast Buns (Optional): While the pork chops are cooking or resting, lightly toast the cut sides of the sandwich rolls or buns under a broiler or in a dry skillet for a minute or two until golden brown.
  4. Assemble Sandwiches: Place a cooked pork chop on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  5. Add Chow Chow: Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of Sweet Home Mild Chow Chow over the pork chop on each sandwich.
  6. Add Optional Toppings: If desired, add lettuce, sliced tomato, or a dollop of mustard, or Sweet Home Mild Chow Chow
  7. Serve: Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
