Light, vibrant, and full of flavor, this White Muscadine Salsa highlights the natural sweetness of Sweet Home White Muscadine Juice, balanced with fresh lime, herbs, and a touch of heat. It’s a versatile topping that pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled meats, or even as a fresh dip with chips.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Sweet Home White Muscadine Juice, reduced
  • ¼ cup finely diced red onion
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of salt, to taste
  • Optional: small drizzle of honey (if extra sweetness is needed)

Instructions

Reduce the Juice

  1. Pour the White Muscadine Juice into a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. Cook until reduced by about half and slightly syrupy, 10–15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

Make the Salsa

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the reduced muscadine juice, red onion, jalapeño (if using), lime zest, and lime juice.
  2. Stir in the chopped cilantro and olive oil.
  3. Season with a pinch of salt and taste.
  4. If needed, add a small drizzle of honey to balance acidity.
  5. Mix gently and refrigerate for 10 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
